January 2022 - New City Arts and Crafts: Draw Charlottesville:  New City Arts & Crafts is back with a take-home activity. Stop by the ART mailbox to pick up a prompt card created by Draw Charlottesville. This activity is open to artists of all ages—kids and grown-ups alike are welcome to take a card.  

You can pick-up a Draw Charlottesville prompt card from outhe New City Arts ART mailbox—located on the brick wall to the right of the door.
Prompt cards will be in the mailbox for pickup on:
  • Friday, January 14 between 5-7:30 (during the First Friday opening of Kori Price's exhibit, You can't compromise my joy.)
  • During Welcome Gallery walk-in open hours: Wednesdays-Fridays between Noon and 5PM in January.

Submit Art
We invite you to submit drawings depicting YOUR Charlottesville - for example, buildings, streetscapes, open space. All ages and levels of artistic ability are encouraged to participate. Draw, Charlottesville!

         Consider using one of these prompts:
  • Draw a place that represents what Charlottesville means to you.
  • Draw a place in Charlottesville that brings you joy.
  • Draw a place in Charlottesville that you would reimagine.

​Either post to Instgram and tag @draw.charlottesville and #drawcharlottesville or email drawcharlottesville (at) gmail (dot) com and include:

  1. Name:  Your name, and if you have one, your Instagram name, so we can tag you (please share with your followers by tagging @draw.charlottesville to spread the word!). Minors will be identified only by initials and age.
  2. Photo:  A photo of your drawing - the best shot of your work to highlight on Draw Charlottesville's pages.
  3. Describe:  If possible, include a sentence on why you chose this place.
